The BC Nurses' Union is the strongest voice of healthcare in our province.
We represent 32,000 RNs, LPNs, Licensed Graduate Nurses and other healthcare employees. We are active in outreach to healthcare students and nursing faculties across the province.
BCNU is a group of professionals who put patients' needs at the centre of everything we do. As well as bargaining some of the best collective agreements in the industry, we strongly advocate for improved public healthcare.
BCNU Associate Membership
BCNU is a leader in member education and services. We offer associate memberships so we can more effectively advance strong public healthcare as well as the interests of employees working in the industry.
Associate membership is available to all employees in the healthcare industry. Employees at non-unionized facilities can explore our services and learn how we improve wages, benefits and working conditions through collective bargaining.
BCNU offers educationals, professional conferences, workplace discussions and regional meetings. These events give members opportunities to expand their knowledge, build strong relationships and improve their healthcare practices. Educational opportunities & other benefits are available to BCNU associates.

BCNU structure
BCNU is governed by its Constitution and Bylaws and is divided into 16 geographic regions. Members in each region elect either a regional chair or two co-chairs. They also elect a regional executive.
BCNU's executive committee consists of the president, vice-president, treasurer, and two executive councilors. They are elected by all members across the province.
BCNU Council is the governing body of the union between annual conventions. It is comprised of regional chairs and co-chairs, and the provincial executive committee.
