Excellence in care. Partners in practice
Anyone who knows nurses knows there are special bonds knitting them together – they care about patients and strive for excellence in their practices.
RNs, LPNs and nurse practitioners want to work in collaborative environments utilizing their education and experience where quality patient care is the centre of everything they do. Employers sometimes change care models without input from nurses, and this can lead to conflict and confusion in the workplace.
Resolving those challenges is one of the primary reasons BCNU launched the associate membership program. Associate membership will bring all nurses into a common association to more effectively represent their profession. It will help resolve practice issues and improve patient care.
LPNs and BCNU
Historically, LPNs have expressed a desire to join BCNU. For years those contacts have been growing and they now represent a significant number of nurses.
Many LPNs believe BCNU understands them as professionals. BCNU invites all LPNs to associate membership. We welcome your contribution to patient care and are confident there will be benefits for all nurses as a result of your association with us.
Associate membership and full membership
Associate membership may be a first step to full membership in BCNU. Becoming a BCNU associate gives LPNs the opportunity to experience our organization and see if it's the "right fit" to become full members.
At BCNU we’re not assuming groups of employees are ready to join our organization. But if members of other unions want to join BCNU, it should be their decision to do so by a democratic vote of the interested group. |
